Join us for the 10th anniversary edition of Urban Sketching Workshops in Portland— on-location drawing series. These workshops are a chance to develop your drawing skills, meet fellow sketchers, and see your city with fresh eyes. To celebrate the 10th year of teaching Urban sketching in Portland we are going all out–offering 10 workshops celebrating the most iconic Portland’s locations and events–from Portland bridges to its gorgeous parks, river spots, festivals, and markets.

How to Choose

All workshops are designed to welcome sketchers at every level. Each session begins with simple, approachable exercises and warmups that meet you exactly where you are in your sketching journey. As the class unfolds, we gradually introduce more advanced ideas to challenge and inspire you, while always offering flexible options so you can adapt each activity to your own comfort and experience level.

Workshop Details:

  • All sessions take place in or near Portland

  • Participants will receive meeting location and materials list several days in advance

  • Taught in person by Rita Sabler, with a focus on real-world urban sketching

Who Can Join:

  • Ages 13 and up

  • All levels welcome—beginner to advanced. The workshops are designed to meet you where you are at in your sketching journey. 

  • Artists, hobbyists, urban explorers, or anyone curious about drawing on location

Pricing & Registration:

  • $55 per workshop

  • Save by registering for 5 or all 10 workshops at once

  • Special discount for participants 30 and under: Only $25 per workshop with code 30UNDER

Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellations are subject to a $20 processing fee

  • Refunds available if requested at least 10 days before the workshop date
    or by the end of the day of the first workshop in a multi-session package
